What is a learning portal and how do I get access?
Once you purchase Make It Homemade, you will be given personal password-protected access to the course portal website. Each week for the first six weeks, a lesson will be unlocked for you to complete. After six weeks, you will have access to anything in the course for up to a year from your date of purchase.
Do I have to complete this course in six weeks?
No! While you are given access one week at a time for the first six weeks, you have one year to complete the course and can go at your own pace.
When is the live Q & A lesson and demo class?
Once you've completed your first lesson, you can sign up for your Q&A and demo class.
What equipment do I need?
What kind of experience is necessary?
Zero experience is necessary! While this course is for beginners, it is also for anyone out of the habit of cooking or someone needing a refresher to reignite their capacity to cook at home. Even if you have cooked occasionally, it can be a struggle to try new things or to offer yourself options when you've never learned skills to make it enjoyable and easy. Going back to the basics does not = boring and simple food. Instead, it makes cooking for your life doable, sustainable, and enjoyable. 🙌
Does this course follow any dietary restrictions?
This class will include meat, eggs, plants, and lots of vegetables. For this course, everything I make is gluten-free, but your meals can always contain gluten if you wish. While someone who follows a vegan diet could take this course for the skills learned, there will be foods that are not vegan being discussed and used. Reach out to me for clarification if needed!

Heather came into our home to cook on the first day we brought our 2nd child home from the hospital. She made delicious, nourishing and family friendly meals that we all devoured. It was such an incredible gift to have her amazing food to eat during those first weeks of new baby life, especially when I was exhausted and starving. We ended up continuing with her for months and have reached out for meals for our family and gifted her services to friends. Not only was the food incredible, but her presence in our home was one of warmth, support and constant encouragement. I still hold dear the moments when I would be on the couch nursing baby 2 while our 3 year old was playing around us, weeping from postpartum and fatigue, and looking at Heather. She gave me the kindest, most gentle, most understanding look and had the most reassuring words -- I know, I get it, AND you can do this. She has a gift of being present without being intrusive, and as a bonus, she is delightful with kids.
